I got to feeling blue today, overwhelmed by the mass ocean that is Etsy. Trying to decipher the swim, stay afloat, not drown in the process. Then I got this kind e-mail from a fellow Etsian, Claudescreations. She invited me to do an interview on her blog. In all the years I’ve interviewed others, no [...]

I prayed for rain today. I also prayed for the guy blowing his lawn at 7a.m. to contract an aneurysm. Needless, cars revved; my doofus man-boy neighbor slammed his screen door; a dog began his barking mantra. I prayed and prayed for thunder, lightening, downpour. The sky stayed blue. The temp. spiked at 70. Apparently [...]

Zephyr and I are running a bit late today, padding about in my slippers still, waiting for whirl of the spin cycle to finish, while he growls at a lost Fed Ex driver out the window.
I just made these felt bowls and left them out in the sun to dry. I thought I’d share. Now we are [...]

The weekend is gone. Our storm was a real bust; not even note worthy. Even the weather announcer apologized for the storm warning. What a disappointment.
Meanwhile, I had a lovely bit of luck yesterday. Over coffee and crocheting I spied this darling young woman having lunch w/her grandmother and I bravely asked if she wouldn’t mind [...]

It’s Saturday and our impending storm is still . . . impending. The clouds are high and dark, chilly, light wind. I’m tickled. The big storm hits tonight. And as I sit here Psycho is playing on TCM. Janet Leigh just got it in the shower. I love it when weather matches a movie. The first [...]

My dad left me this e-mail this morning:
”Leaving Creole soup in your car this morning. . . Whopper Headed Our Way. ‘Big storm is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds this weekend. The NWS has issued a High Wind Watch w/winds gust in excess of 40 mph. . . it might be enough to [...]
Pink Yarn Trip

Two in one day. I know; crazy. But I had to share. I needed yarn and I went a little nuts. It could have been much worse–the colors, the textures, heaven–still, I restrained myself as best I could.
And it’s Thursday. Lost is on tonight. Enjoy. d.

Sorry I missed yesterday. But really, how exciting am I lately? I’ve gotten a lot of crocheting done this last week, considering. Now all I need are models to shoot them on. I could do w/o but it just looks so much better on humans. Humans, however, are fickle and moody and have their own [...]
Another day, a dozen more Mythbusters.

Winter has returned and I’m deliriously pleased. Wrapped in sweater and scarf, it’s chilly enough for a hat too.
I mailed the scarflette all the way to New Jersey in a recycled tea box. The fit was perfect. I can see all the wonderful boxes I discard (recycle) on a regular basis. Toothpaste box: fabulous for jewelery [...]

Recycling: Sissies Need Not Apply

I went to the Etsy forums to share fun packaging ideas. I recycle all these boxes: cereal, crackers, hot tea, etc, etc–the same way you do. I thought these are great for packaging, perfect sizes, clean, colorful, light . . . and the storm ensued! I had no idea what I was in for. Hackles [...]
